Based on a single excellently preserved autoicous plant, Drepanolejeun
ea eogena n.sp. is described from Dominican amber (probably Miocene).
The plant exhibits a short terminal androecium on the main axis and on
a shorter branch a gynoecium bearing a mature perianth with pycnoleje
uneoid innovation. Among the numerous extant species of Drepanolejeune
a in the Neotropics none seems to be very closely related.
