The paper reviews the actual status of GPS camera positioning for aeri
al triangulation applications. The special strategy of allowing linear
GPS drift errors and correcting them subsequently in a combined block
adjustment is presented, and its operational features are discussed.
Theoretical and empirical results of combined block adjustment show th
e high accuracy potential of GPS-supported aerial triangulation. A rev
iew of practical projects confirms the economic benefit of the method
and demonstrates that it is ready for practical application.
