APPLICATION OF GPS FOR AERIAL TRIANGULATION

The paper reviews the actual status of GPS camera positioning for aeri al triangulation applications. The special strategy of allowing linear GPS drift errors and correcting them subsequently in a combined block adjustment is presented, and its operational features are discussed. Theoretical and empirical results of combined block adjustment show th e high accuracy potential of GPS-supported aerial triangulation. A rev iew of practical projects confirms the economic benefit of the method and demonstrates that it is ready for practical application.
