Abstract
Fully benzylated or benzoylated phenyl selenoglycosides can be activat ed by the promoters iodonium di-sym-collidine perchlorate (IDCP) or N- iodosuccinimide and catalytic triflic acid (NIS/TfOH). The potential o f the iodonium ion-mediated glycosylations with phenyl selenoglycoside s is illustrated in the chemoselective synthesis of 1,2-cis- and 1,2-t rans linked disaccharides.
