Jd. Wang et al., THE QUANTITATIVE-ANALYSIS OF MULTICOMPONENT GASEOUS-MIXTURES OF ORGANIC-COMPOUNDS BY FT-IR, Spectroscopy letters, 30(1), 1997, pp. 99-106
Fourier transform infrared classical computation method applied to the
direct quantitative analysis of multicomponent gaseous mixtures of th
e organic compounds was described in the paper. For the analysis of mu
lticomponent mixtures a number of important problems, such as select o
f quantitative optimal peak windows and calibration of the spectral ba
nd overlapping between the compounds, had been discussed. The FT-IR so
ftware for multicomponent simultaneous determination of up to 10 compo
unds in a gaseous mixture had been completed. The software can provide
two kinds of the linear and nonlinear fits for the calibrating concen
trations of the interference components. The accuracy, precision and t
ime of the analysis were satisfactory. The results indicate that the m
ethod can be used for the simultaneous quantitative analysis of the mu
lticomponent gaseous mixtures of the organic compounds even if there a
re serious overlaps of the infrared spectral absorption bands of the c
ompounds.
