SYNTHESIS AND CRYSTAL-STRUCTURES OF POLYM ERIC IODOPLUMBATE CHAINS AND NETS

The iodoplumbates (Me(3)N-C3H6-NMe(3))(3)[Pb3I9](2) (2) and (Me(3)N-C3 H6-NMe(3))(2)[Pb3I10] (3) or (Me(3)N-C2H4-NMe(3))(2)[Pb3I10] (1), resp ectively, are formed in the reaction of PbI2 with NaI and (Me(3)N-C3H6 -NMe(3))(PF6)(2) or (Me(3)N-C2H4-NMe(3))(PF6)(2) in DME. The anions of 1 and 2 consist of Pb3I11 units sharing common I atoms to form infini te zigzag-chains and nets. The polymeric anions in 3 contain chains of face- and edge-sharing PbI6 octahedra.
