Oxidation of chlorpromazine at a phospholipid modified glassy carbon e
lectrode has been determined from analysis of voltamperometric curves.
Measurements realized using the preconcentration technique allow inte
resting sensitivity improvements. The oxidation current is increased b
y six-fold over that in the absence of lipid. The electrode response i
s pH-dependent. A shift of only 10 mV was found for the peak potential
s with respect to the value obtained at an unmodified electrode. Inter
actions between the chlorpromazine oxidised product and the lipid laye
r are discussed.
