Abstract
A liquid chromatographic method for analysis of inositol hexaphosphate mixture using evaporative light scattering detection (ELSD) is descri bed. This sensitive and easy to use method permits a direct determinat ion of various inositol phosphates and prevents a post-column derivati zation. Another advantage of the ELSD, in comparison with UV detection , is the possibility to detect the initial myo-inositol, in addition t o phosphate derivatives. Separation of inositol phosphates is obtained by gradient elution. It illustrates the compatibility of this kind of detection with aqueous nitric acid as eluent.
