Abstract
Only rarely have serious side effects been reported with the use of in travenous dipyridamole. We describe two cases of severe bradycardia, o f which one led to asystole, in patients undergoing dipyridamole-thall ium studies. The association between beta blocker therapy and the seve n reported cases of asystole with dipyridamole is discussed and mechan isms postulated. Some caution is advised when patients on beta blocker s or similar medications have dipyridamole-thallium studies.
