A case report of giant extra-articular intraosseous pseudocyst in the
acetabulum in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis is presented. A 36-y
ear-old male patient with sero positive rheumatoid arthritis presented
with hip signs and symptoms, and X-ray showed a 5 x 3.5 x 2 cm giant
intraosseous acetabular cyst The lesion was treated by open surgery, t
horough curettage and cortico cancellous bone grafting. Six months fol
lowing surgery the patient was painfree and mobile. We believe this is
the first report of a giant extra-articular intraosseous pseudocyst i
n the acetabulum and we conclude from our experience that the first li
ne of treatment should be curettage and grafting.
