Abstract
The pharmacokinetic properties of sarafloxacin hydrochloride in cannul ated Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) held in sea water were studied afte r intravascular and oral administration. Sarafloxacin was rapidly abso rbed, having a T-max at 6.25 h and a C-max of 0.35 mu g/ml. The elimin ation of sarafloxacin in cannulated salmon was relatively slow, t(1/2 beta) being 45.3 h in the group given the drug intravascularly. The bi oavailability was calculated to be 13.3%. The data diverged considerab ly between individuals, and the estimated parameters should be: interp reted with caution.
