A. Dufresne et al., MEASUREMENT OF METALLIC PARTICLES EXTRACTED FROM THE LUNG PARENCHYMA OF 2 ELECTRICIANS AND ONE ELECTROTECHNICIAN, American Industrial Hygiene Association journal, 54(9), 1993, pp. 564-568
This paper reports the chemical nature of particles extracted from the
lung parenchyma of two electricians and one electrotechnician. Result
s indicate that these workers retained particles that are qualitativel
y representative of their work history. The concentration of nickel in
the lung of these workers was statistically higher (Mann-Whitney, p <
0.013) than the concentrations measured in the lungs of 39 other work
ers who died of different types of cancers.
