N. Mokuau et Pl. Ewalt, SCHOOL AGENCY COLLABORATION - ENRICHING TEACHING, SCHOLARSHIP, AND SERVICE IN STATE-HOSPITAL PLACEMENTS, Journal of social work education, 29(3), 1993, pp. 328-337
The social work literature notes increasing problems and controversies
related to the interrelationships of teaching, scholarship, and servi
ce. The authors present a model of a school and state hospital collabo
ration project that integrates these educational dimensions. Major com
ponents of the model are described, including a philosophy and rationa
le for collaboration, key features of collaboration, and an overview a
nd evaluation of the project's three programs. The project demonstrate
s that teaching, scholarship, and service can interact in a way that e
nriches social work education.
