Md. Monahan et Cj. Durning, A TENSILE RHEOMETER FOR SOLID POLYMERS CONTAINING VOLATILE DILUENTS, Journal of applied polymer science, 51(2), 1994, pp. 213-221
A tensile rheometer capable of confining diluent is described. This rh
eometer makes it possible to characterize solid samples with imbibed d
iluent. Tensile stress-relaxation data were obtained as a function of
temperature for dry glassy semicrystalline poly(ethylene terephthalate
) (PET) and as a function of composition for semicrystalline PET imbib
ed with dimethylformamide (DMF). Data on PET / DMF captures the glass-
rubber transition as DMF content is increased. (C) 1994 John Wiley & S
