Abstract
The 1:1 adducts Of UCl3[HB(3,5-Me2Pz)3] with thf. pyridine (NC5H5), ac etonitrile (MeCN), benzonitrile (PhCN), cyclohexylisocyanide (C6H12NC) , triethylphosphate (tep), tributylphosphate (tbp) and triphenylphosph ine oxide (tppo) have been prepared and characterized. The structure o f the tep compound was determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis. Th e charge distribution within the molecules was determined and its corr elation with spectroscopic data is discussed. The relative affinity of the Lewis base to the uranium central ion was determined by base exch ange reactions and found to be tppo > RNC > RCN > tep > tbp > NC5H5 > thf.
