DECISION-SUPPORT USING TRADITIONAL SIMULATION AND VISUAL INTERACTIVE SIMULATION

According to a recent survey on DSS, graphics and simulation are the t wo most frequently used techniques in DSS building. With the rapid adv ancement of computer technology, especially computer graphics, a new t ype of simulation, namely visual interactive simulation (VIS), which e mphasizes the values of model interaction and dynamic graphics has bee n developed and used in simulation-based DSS. This paper compares VIS with traditional simulation in the context of decision support.
