Y. Rozenman et al., ANOMALOUS ORIGIN OF THE CIRCUMFLEX CORONARY-ARTERY FROM THE RIGHT SINUS OF VALSALVA AS A CAUSE OF ISCHEMIA AT OLD-AGE, Clinical cardiology, 16(12), 1993, pp. 900-901
The ease of a patient with an anomalous origin of the circumflex coron
ary artery causing myocardial ischemia and infarction is presented. Ev
en though the anomalous artery was not located between aorta and pulmo
nary artery, this anomaly, which is usually considered benign, was res
ponsible for the ischemic symptoms. Transesophageal echocardiographic
study demonstrated an acute angulation at the proximal portion of this
abnormal vessel, very close to its origin from the right coronary sin
us, which we believe caused the abnormality in coronary now in this pa
tient.
