Abstract
A new species of Hymenochaetaceae, Inonotus boninensis, is described f rom Bonin Is., Japan. It is characterized by a resupinate and woody ba sidiocarp, large colored spores, abundant setal hyphae, and absence of hymenial setae. Cultural characteristics are also described.
