Abstract
-1,4-bis[2-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)ethenyl]benzene was synthesized usi ng the Wittig reaction and the mixture of the three possible cis,trans -isomers was separated by preparative HPLC. The spectroscopy, conducti vity and solubility of the isomers are presented. NMR measurements pro vided information about the molecular structure and dynamics of the se parate isomers.
