Abstract
Lectotypes are designated for 198 species of thynnine tiphiids from Au stralia, Indonesia, New Guinea, Solomon Islands and South America. Typ e information is given for each of these species, including original p ublication and locality data, type repositories, and current generic p lacement. Three new generic combinations are given for Merithynnus bog otana (Turner), Zeena jheringi (Turner), and Spilothynnus serena (Dura n).
