Abstract
The optimal size of a semi-batch desorption subunit of a SCF extractio n plant is found by minimizing its total cost. A golden-search algorit hm is used to fmd the optimal number of desorption vessels and its opt imal size. Regenerating times for every batch-cycle are calculated by integrating numerically the physical model which describes the desorpt ion process.
