Abstract
The detection of out-of-control states and the diagnosis of the source s of disturbances are two important tasks for Statistical Process Cont rol (SPC). A methodology for performing SPC in chemical processes is p roposed here. This approach utilizes a process model and state estimat ion techniques. By using this approach, disturbance can be detected an d isolated from possible sources.
