Ak. Strelis et al., SIGNIFICANCE OF CYTOCHEMICAL EXAMINATION OF METALS IN BLOOD NEUTROPHILIC GRANULOCYTES IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF PULMONARY-DISEASES, Vracebnoe delo, (1), 1993, pp. 45-47
Peripheral blood smears from healthy persons and patients with pneumon
ia and pulmonary tuberculosis were used for a cytochemical study of me
tals in neutrophils with the help of dithisone and chlortetracyclin. T
he content of metals in these cells was increased in pneumonia and act
ive tuberculosis, but was normal or decreased in non-active pulmonary
tuberculosis. It is concluded that cytochemical reactions for metals m
ay be used in the diagnosis of pulmonary diseases.
