Abstract
The absolutely continuous and singular spectrum of one-dimensional Sch rodinger operators with slowly oscillating potentials and perturbed pe riodic potentials is studied, continuing similar investigations for Ja cobi matrices from [14]. Trace class methods are used to locate the si ngular spectrum. The absolutely continuous spectrum is determined by i terated diagonalization of transfer matrices to prove boundedness of e igensolutions.
