I. Soutar et al., STRUCTURE-PROPERTY RELATIONSHIPS IN PMR-TYPE POLYIMIDE RESINS .1. NOVEL ANTHRAQUINONE-BASED PMR RESINS, Polymer, 34(24), 1993, pp. 5048-5052
Novel aromatic polyimides prepared via the polymerization of monomeric
reactants (PMR) approach and incorporating anthraquinone diamines in
the main chain have been characterized. Imidization and crosslinking r
eaction profiles have been delineated by d.m.t.a. and the high-tempera
ture mechanical and thermal properties of the thermoset resins examine
d. Elevated glass transition temperatures (> 300-degrees-C) are appare
nt in some resins while impairment of mechanical integrity is not evid
ent below 450-degrees-C. All resins show good thermal and thermo-oxida
tive stability.
