Abstract
A recently derived Laplace-transform method [R. A. Swainson and G. W. F. Drake, J. Phys. A 24, 79 (1991)] is adapted for the N-dimensional S chrodinger equation. Specific results are presented for the recurrence relations of the radial wave functions for (i) an isotropic harmonic oscillator and (ii) the hydrogen atom. The dimensionality of the probl em is seen to enter into these relations in such a way that one can im mediately verify the corresponding three-dimensional results.
