Abstract
The microstructural characterization of indented Y-PSZ polycrystals ha s been investigated by TEM. The observations show two different region s associated with the indent: a large core with a high density of mono clinic particles transformed from the initial tetragonal variant, and an inner core region with a high density of dislocations. The core reg ion can be correlated with previous observations of a crack exclusion zone.
