Abstract
The proton backscattering spectra of carbon thin films taken near the resonance in the carbon cross-section have irregular shapes. The compu ter simulations of these spectra can give unique values of proton ener gy, energy calibration, and film thickness simultaneously provided tha t the correct cross-section and stopping power are known.
