Abstract
The past year has been a notable one for the structural study of toxin s. Several new toxin structures have been determined, including the fi rst example of a superantigen. Another first is the visualization of b inding interactions with a cell-surface receptor. Unexpected structura l homologies hint at unsuspected evolutionary relationships among toxi n families.
