1ST-ROW TRANSITION- AND GROUP-12 AND GROUP-14 METAL RIDOTRIS(3A,7A-BENZO-1,2,3-1H-TRIAZOL-1-YL)BORATE] DERIVATIVES

A series of metal complexes analysing as [L](2)M.xH(2)O (0.5 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 2), where L = dridotris(3a,7a-ben zo-1,2,3-1H-triazol-1-yl)borate [(C6H4N3)(3)BH]-; M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, Sn, Pb, and V(=O) have been prepared from the appropriate metal chlorides in aqueous solution or CH2Cl2 suspension (Sn and Pb). These compounds were obtained as air-stable solids sparingly soluble i n most organic solvents. They have been investigated by elemental anal ysis, conductivity measurements in DMSO, IR, EIMS spectra and, where p ossible, H-1 and C-13 NMR spectra. From the collected evidence the com pounds are suggested to be polynuclear in the solid state.
