Abstract
The exciton-phonon system of a type-II heterostructure quantum well in which the electron and the hole are spatially separated is studied wi th both longitudinal optical (LO) and surface optical (SO) phonons tak en into account. Numerical results indicate that SO phonons play a uni que role in the induced potential which determines the change of the e nergy difference of the exciton in this type-II bilayer quantum well s ystem when we consider the influence of the phonons. Any other propert ies of the exciton in this system are shown in this paper. Besides, th e size effect is also confirmed.
