Abstract
Connsiderable amounts of mercury, copper, antimony and sulphur dioxide are emited into the atmosphere in surrounding of smelter in Rudnany. The influence of air pollution resulted in reduction of leaf surface o f Coronilla varia population, loment size and total absence of blossom s in the most attacked area. The vitality of C. varia population, at a distance more than 1200 m from smelter, was already good. Leaf para m eters were almost equal to those of a control. Plants in this populati on newer and produce seeds. Notable contamination of aboveground parts of plants by mercury, copper, antimony and sulphur was found on all l ocation.
