Abstract
The delta- and gamma-phases of titanium hydride were studied by inelas tic neutron scattering (INS). Biphonon and triphonon excitations were clearly observed in the gamma-phase as distinct peaks split from two-p honon and three-phonon bands to lower energies. Bound multiphonon stat es seem to occur also in the delta-phase, they appeared in the INS spe ctra as hump-shaped features at the low-energy side of the free multip honon bands.
