Abstract
Resonant ultrasound spectroscopy has been used to study the ultrasonic attenuation and elastic constants of ScH(x), ScD(x), and YD(x) over t he temperature range of 10 - 300 K. All three materials show an attenu ation peak below 100 K for measuring frequencies in the range of 1 MHz . In the case of Sc a large isotope effect is observed.
