Abstract
Near-threshold fatigue crack growth (FCG) behaviour of 316 SS at posit ive R-ratios in air at room temperature is influenced by crack closure . Empirical modifications of McEvily-Groeger and Zhao Xiaopeng equatio ns are proposed to incorporate crack closure effects; the modified equ ations are found to provide excellent correlation for the R-dependence of the present Delta K-th data.
