We report chemical preparation and crystal structure for a new type of
cyciohexaphosphate arrangement, CuLi2[C(NH2)3]2P6O18.4H2O. This mixed
salt is triclinic, with Z = 1, and the following unit-cell dimensions
: a = 9.455(3), b = 9.211(4), c = 7.503(4) angstrom alpha = 108.17(5),
beta = 109.56(5), gamma = 84.72(4)degrees. Space group is P1BAR. The
main feature of this arrangement is the existence of a three-dimension
al inorganic network built by P6O18 groups, LiO4 tetrahedra and CuO6 o
ctahedra arranged as to create, parallel to the c direction, very larg
e channels containing the organic entities. Crystal structure was solv
ed by using 3160 reflections, with a final R value of 0.024. Half of t
he water molecules are not involved in the associated cation coordinat
ion polyhedra. The hydrogen-bond scheme is described.
