The low-temperature nuclear orientation technique has been used to stu
dy the magnetic behaviour of Co-60 and Mn-54 impurity atoms in the ree
ntrant spin glass AU0.82Fe0.18. The results obtained for Co-60 indicat
e that Co moments follow the distribution of Fe directions. In contras
t, Mn moments show a spread directional distribution. These results ar
e the consequence of the different character of Mn-Fe and Fe-Fe intera
ctions at short distances.
