M. Trhlik et al., MAGNETIC-BEHAVIOR OF TB IMPURITIES IN GD AND Y SINGLE-CRYSTALS - A NUCLEAR ORIENTATION STUDY, Hyperfine interactions, 78(1-4), 1993, pp. 501-504
The low temperature nuclear orientation of Tb-160 impurities in Gd and
Y single crystals has been studied in the temperature range 7-40 mK a
nd in the external magnetic field range 0-7.3 T applied along a-, b- a
nd c-crystal axes. In the case of Th in Gd we found a considerable non
collinearity of the Th magnetic moment with respect to the magnetic ex
ternal field direction even for high B(ext). In the case of Tb in Y th
e results cannot be described by a simple model, taking into account t
he simultaneous influence of the crystal and external magnetic fields.
Some new proposals for interpretation of the experimental dat are giv
