Abstract
Recurrent urticaria/anaphylaxis is a most perplexing and critical prob lem, often of unknown cause. Though difficult and time consuming, iden tification of causes(s) can be life saving and cost saving for the pat ient(s). We report a complex case of urticaria/anaphylaxis induced by latex allergen in a former intensive care unit nurse, in which the all ergen contact occurred remotely and indirectly by intimate contact wit h the spouse. Diagnosis of the latex allergy was confirmed by epicutan eous skin test in vivo as well as RAST.
