Abstract
This article is based on an eye-witness account of the effect of a fla sh flood on the rural community of Imlil in the High Atlas Mountains o f Morocco on 17 August 1995. The village of Imlil is in the Reraya val ley, one of several valleys to be affected by the event. The article a lso examines the causes of the flood and some consequences for the fut ure of the area.
