Abstract
We present a new proper motion probe as part of an investigation of ga lactic structure and evolution. We discuss the observational results o btained in a restricted field of 1.77 square degrees at low galactic l atitude in the direction of SpA 23 (t = 179 degrees., b = 2.8 degrees) . The resulting catalogue includes 24765 stars. It is complete down to magnitudes 19, 19 and 18 respectively in U, B and V passbands. Photog raphic photometry have been published separately (Mohan et al. 1988).
