Sk. Kukushkin et al., COMBINED TREATMENT OF STABLE ANGINA-PECTO RIS WITH TRINITROLONG COMBINED WITH PROPRANOLOL, Kliniceskaa medicina, 71(5), 1993, pp. 30-33
Trinitrolong (TNL), a long-acting nitroglycerin for application on the
gingiva, was comparatively assessed for effect on stable angina pecto
ris in monotherapy and in combination with beta-adrenoblocker proprano
lol. A total of 11 anginal patients received the combination the effic
acy of which was verified by paired bicycle ergometry. A high antiangi
nal effect of TNL was established. However, its combination with propr
anolol entails neither higher exercise tolerance nor less frequent ang
inal attacks. An increment in the effect was not seen either when the
combination was used in single and course doses in one-third of the pa
tients.
