The kubbutz, in the early 1990s, presents a collective community in tr
ansition. Changes in social ideology are reshaping certain aspects of
developmental processes of individuals who were brought up in a commun
al community. This special issue highlights the unique interaction bet
ween cultural context and personality development processes in kibbutz
adolescents and young adults. Certain social, affective, and cognitiv
e changes that contribute to identity formation in the kibbutz context
are explored from multidisciplinary perspectives.
