FOCAL NODULAR HYPERPLASIA OF THE LIVER IN CHILDHOOD

We report two cases of focal nodular hyperplasia of the liver in child hood. Operative resection has resulted in complete relief of symptoms, with no evidence of recurrence on follow-up. We suggest that asymptom atic patients may be managed conservatively following appropriate radi ological imaging and needle biopsy to exclude a malignant lesion. Surg ical intervention is indicated in cases of diagnostic difficulty and f or relief of symptoms.
