We report two cases of focal nodular hyperplasia of the liver in child
hood. Operative resection has resulted in complete relief of symptoms,
with no evidence of recurrence on follow-up. We suggest that asymptom
atic patients may be managed conservatively following appropriate radi
ological imaging and needle biopsy to exclude a malignant lesion. Surg
ical intervention is indicated in cases of diagnostic difficulty and f
or relief of symptoms.
