Deep venoux thrombosis of an upper limb complicated by pulmonary embol
ism: one case. - Venous thrombosis of the upper limb is classically ra
rely complicated by pulmonary embolism. The authors report a case of p
hlebitis of the upper limb in a 46-year-old woman with a thoracic outl
et syndrome complicated by multiple and recurrent pulmonary emboli. An
alysis of recent data from the literature would appear to bring into q
uestion the classically accepted harmless nature of this condition reg
arding the risk of embolic complications.
