Application of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) in selecte
d ion monitoring (SIM) mode in trace analysis of environmental samples
, for the determination of benzo[a]pyrene as an example, is presented
in this paper. B[a]P has been determined on a ppb level in the dust fr
om gases emitted during high-temperature coal combustion. In the analy
tical clean-up procedure of the environmental samples the solid phase
extraction (SPE) was used.
