S. Rheault et E. Bilgen, MIXED CONVECTION HEAT-TRANSFER IN OPEN-ENDED INCLINED CHANNELS WITH FLOW REVERSAL, Warme- und Stoffubertragung, 29(2), 1993, pp. 107-116
Numerical solutions are presented for the problem of steady laminar mi
xed convection in vertical and inclined parallel channels with asymmet
ric isothermal boundary conditions. The flow and temperature fields at
the entrance are assumed to be uniform and the resulting governing eq
uations which are elliptic in nature are discretized in a control volu
me approach using a vorticity-strean function formulation. Various gov
erning parameters were: Gr/Re from about 70 to 14,000, the non dimensi
onal temperature from 0 to 1 (symmetric heating) and the tilt angle fr
om 30 to 90-degrees. The aspect ratio was 10 and constant. The results
are presented in terms of flow and temperature fields and Nusselt num
bers.
