Abstract
Reaction of N-acyl-3.3-diamino-2-nitroacrylthioamides 1 with MeI at ro om temperature leads to acyl-S-methyl-3,3-diamino-2-nitroacrylthioimid ates 2 in moderate yields. The latter react with Hg(OAc)2 in DMF yield ing 3-(acylamino)-3-amino-2-nitroacrylonitriles 8. The structures of 2 a and 8a were established by X-ray crystallography.
