Cp. Slichter et al., NMR-STUDIES OF THE SUPERCONDUCTING PAIRING STATE OF YBA2CU3O7, Journal of physics and chemistry of solids, 54(10), 1993, pp. 1439-1445
The authors review evidence, from NMR of Cu-63 and O-17 atoms in the C
uO planes, concerning the spin and orbital pairing of the superconduct
or YBa2Cu3O7. It shows that the NMR data in the superconducting state
require, a spin-singlet pairing state. It is consistent with orbital d
-wave pairing, but not with a conventional orbital s-wave pairing. Whe
ther or not other types of orbital pairing states (e.g. anisotropic s-
state) can explain the data can only be judged when those theories are
used to calculate the NMR properties.
