Abstract
A reliable method for the simultaneous identification and quantificati on of coccolithophorids has been developed. The method includes the co mbined use of Hoffman modulation contrast, polarized light, differenti al interference contrast (DIC-Nomarsky), epifluorescence and specially designed thin Utermohl chambers.
