Abstract
Opportunistic infections of all types are rare. Invasive necrotizing p hycomycotic infections are particularly rare, and are often overlooked in the differential diagnosis. They usually occur in immunocompromise d patients and have been associated with high morbidity and mortality. These infections require prompt recognition and aggressive surgical a nd medical treatment.
